In this episode of The Audacious Black Girl Podcast, I sit down with Diana Vanessa, a former lawyer whose life took a powerful, unexpected turn into the world of astrology. Diana shares how a season of deep burnout, emotional paralysis, and feeling blocked forced her to confront a truth she had been avoiding: she no longer wanted the life she had built.

As she sought healing through therapy, rest, and medication, an astrology report found its way to her. From there, everything changed. The language resonated in a way nothing else had, helping her reconnect with herself, honor her intuition, and name what she truly wanted.

Together, we talk about the courage it takes to pivot, the sacredness of rest, the importance of regulating your nervous system before making big decisions, and what happens when your environment no longer supports your well-being. This is a conversation about alignment, truth-telling, self-rescue, and permitting yourself to choose a different life. She also gives me a powerful astrology reading that has shifted how I move!

Host: Amanda:

Hey everyone, welcome to the Audacious Black Girl Podcast. This is your host, Amanda. Today, our guest is Diana Vanessa. She is a lawyer, turned astrologer, and she made this incredible pivot, as audacious black girls tend to do. So I'm looking forward to having this conversation. We're going to talk about not only her pivot, but also get into some astrology. She's going to give me a mini reading. I'm so excited about this process, about this episode, about this guest. Diana, if you can just introduce yourself a little further, tell us who you are.

SPEAKER_02:

Well, thank you, Amanda. Thank you for having me on. This is an honor. And I'm really excited to be chatting with you today about my pivot and astrology and how it's been really instrumental in that. So my name is Diana. I go by Diana Vanessa as part of my astrology practice. As you mentioned, I am an astrologer. I'm also a part-time lawyer and a mom. I live in the DC metro area and have lived here pretty much my entire life. But one of the main reasons that I pivoted into this practice is because it has helped me to develop a lot of self-awareness around what my gifts are, natural gifts, what my challenges are, and um how to work with them. I really enjoy, and um to set this up with a little bit of background. I'm a Capricorn son and I um have my moon and Virgo, and those tend to be placements uh that like to troubleshoot things. And so as part of my practice, I really encourage us to work with our placements, not against them. Whether they are whether they're our shot our stars or they're like our little, you know, the spars and spurs in our heel, um, there's so much we can work with in the chart. So I work with the chart for self-awareness of our gifts, our strengths, challenges. I'm also looking at timing and at seasons. And that's really important for us because we need to know when we're in seasons of harvesting and lots of action. Or we might be in a season where we are being called to rest and to surrender control a little bit more so that we can be more in flow with what we're being asked. Um so that is what I am doing right now. Um and uh I think that's good enough for the intro, but I'll be speaking a little bit more about myself throughout the program.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, thank you so much for that, Diana. And I I wanted to get into what you just mentioned, um, like when we're being called to do something different, when we are being called to pivot to transition, and you being a lawyer, high achieving, naturally, right? I feel like you know, as a therapist, I work with plenty of lawyers and doctors, and they are the most ambitious, burned-out people that I know. So, as a lawyer and your pivot, what made you pivot into being an astrologer? What's the story there?

SPEAKER_02:

So the story is pretty much on point with like this the theme or the archetype of a Capricorn son. I um am the eldest daughter in my family. I am a first-generation Asian American and uh I have some really awesome parents who came to this country and made a lot of sacrifices and have always encouraged me to really like find a career that could afford me a lot of stability. Um education was always highlighted as a high priority in my family. And um, so I did I did just that. I followed the path that I thought I was supposed to take. And uh I did I went straight through undergrad and went to uh law school at Howard in DC. And uh thank you. I love Howard. I went straight from Howard to working my first job um at a law firm in DC. I spent most of my career in big law and um I did it. I did the climbing up the mountaintop, which is uh associated with Capricorn. I made my took my way all the way up to partner uh where I was um when I got to the top of the mountain and I looked down and I realized that my village was burning. And like you said, I was trying so hard to make a untenable situation work in my life. I was working really long hours not getting paid commiserate with my value, at least in my opinion. I was asked to to do more in order to get paid more. I didn't see my kids most of the day, and when I did see my kids, it was close to dinner or bedtime. And even when I was working from home after the pandemic, I was seeing my kids after seven o'clock. Working from home. Wow, wow, yeah, and I had a really gnarly, terrible, what felt like the karmic um toxic partnership from hell, where the team dynamics in the last one, especially after a former partner of mine left and retired, I realized that I had been um, I ultimately realized that I'd been cycles of people pleasing, ultimately, that had led me to where I was. But um, it started with me just initially trying to figure out how to troubleshoot myself because I had started experiencing work paralysis, where I would open up my laptop to try to like send an email to a client and then would find myself an hour later still looking at my blank screen.

Host: Amanda:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

And Amanda, I was like, what is going on with me? Because I'm so used to being uh producing results and getting work done. And so I initially was on a hunt to try to find something to fix me and troubleshoot me back into work performance, into performance mode. But all this things kept showing up to tell me that maybe I needed to do a little deeper digging and maybe I just needed to come to the realization that what I'd been trying to hide was the fact that I really didn't want to be doing what I was doing anymore. And I'd finally gotten to the point where I was being blocked. It felt like I was being blocked on so many sides. Wow. So anyway, I started, you know, I started, you know, seeing a therapist, I got on psych meds, you know, to help me with the issues that, you know, I was basically trying to cover up.

SPEAKER_03:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

And as I was searching for different modalities to help me um fix myself, I came across an astrology report. And what was so interesting was the language in the report really spoke deeply to me in a way that nothing else had really spoken. And it resonated. And I wanted to know more. I wanted to know how this astrology report could say so much about my personality and tell me things about myself that I hadn't other people or confirmed things for me that no one else had confirmed, or no other method of getting to who I was had shown me.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my goodness. Wow. And I want to just pause for a minute. I can see this is a super emotional part of your story, which goes to the depth of not only who you are and how important this pivot was for you, but I can hear you say that you put in a lot of healing work to get through that part of your life, that difficult part of your life. And I just want to commend you for being brave and bold and recognizing the paralysis that you felt in the therapeutic world. We call that, you know, just challenges with like your executive functioning, right? So that's your ability to do work, your ability to, you know, take care of an assignment, to do your job, to do those daily tasks. And you're so frozen because of the depth of stress and anxiety and even depression some people are under. And there's some other diagnosis that could, you know, impact, but that's how deep it can get when we aren't aligned and we're feeling that tension and that resistance. And you mentioned how you just kept getting like um blocked. Like I'm being blocked, but you were brave enough to explore what that blockage was.

SPEAKER_01:

Thank you.

Host: Amanda:

I want to commend you for that because it takes a lot of bravery, takes a lot of bravery, and I think that's something our listeners can probably resonate with. I'm sure there's someone listening now who's feeling that block, who's feeling that resistance, who's feeling like something has to change, but where do I pivot? Where do I pivot? So, for you, where did that bravery come from? What did it take for you to go? I have got to do something different. There's no other way forward.

SPEAKER_02:

I think for me, I had to sit with myself a lot. I had to really examine and spend some time. Oh my God, the first thing I did was I started prioritizing rest for myself.

Host: Amanda:

That part.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, it's interesting because for me, some of the things that people had said that sound so basic, right? Like you need we need to go outside and get sun, we need to put our toes in the grass, we need to go get, you know, we need quality sleep. I wasn't doing any of those things. In fact, I was, you know, casting spells over myself and saying I didn't have time to do them. So one of the first things I did actually was I stopped telling myself I didn't have the time to do things like get sleep because my health was also really compromised during that time where I was getting sick like all the time. So I said, I'm gonna get rest, I'm gonna sit with myself, I'm going to prioritize my time, I'm going to set boundaries in that I'm going to take time and put time on my public calendar at work where I mark off time where I can take a nap and sleep so that I can make sure that I am getting rest. And what was interesting was, and then I started spending more time outdoors, getting sun, putting my toes in the grass, touching the trees, even, and listening to birds. And the more I sat with myself and did those things, I started to feel like I was getting more clarity about where I needed to go next. And I also started paying more attention to how my surroundings, how things were evolving at work, for example. I noticed that when I started doing things that made me feel better about myself, that I was getting certain resistance from the partners that I was working with about the fact that I was taking time for my mental health, that I was carving time on my schedule that made me not accessible to them. And so that pushback was indicative to me that they weren't the people that I needed to be in partnership with. Because what it's what it what it what it messaged to me was that um my health was not a priority. The needs of the practice group were, which doesn't make sense to me because the people are having are going through some serious emotional, mental health, physical needs, and in this case, it's not a priority for this group and the needs of the. I mean, how do we work? How do we function if we're not taking care of our needs?

SPEAKER_03:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

So it none of it, and then so I said, okay, I I see. I started to finally like, I think all the symbols, the signs that had been coming up started to make sense. And and that coupled with me taking more time for myself and sitting with myself, gave me the opportunity from going from constantly dealing with fire drills and having a day-to-day life that felt chaotic and toxic, and that I didn't have time to do baseline things like sleep led me to realize that if I wanted to have the better life and the better quality of life that I was starting to experience by being taking more time for myself, that I would really need to start making really hard decisions about what to do with my career. And ultimately, I was also falling more in love with astrology at the time. It was continuing, the language was continuing to speak to me in a way that helped open the door for me to do these different things that were so basic and baseline, but that for some reason it came the language of the astrology conveyed that with more urgency to me than anything or any other advice I'd heard before. And so that's how the pivot started for me.

Host: Amanda:

Wow. I tell and I, you know, everyone knows I'm a therapist that are listening. If you don't know, I am a therapist. And um that basic foundational let me get outside, let me rest, let me sleep, let me exercise, let me eat healthy, let me go to a therapist. So many people are resistant to that because they think it's not enough. Or they think they don't have time, they think they don't have time, and they think that what is extra sleep gonna do for me? What is a nap gonna do for me? What is talking to a therapist? What is exercise? What these are so foundational, and people want to bypass those basic things. But the moment, Edjin, you're saying, when you recognize, oh my God, like these foundational ways of being and living that I actually need more rest. Getting outside, listening to the birds, they can be the most life-changing and pivotal moments of self-care to allow you to really make those bigger and more massive changes and those difficult decisions. And I think that's what it takes. It takes us really focusing on okay, what changes do I need to do? Only, yes, internally and mindset-wise, who do I need to surround myself with? Because as you're saying, you were around people who didn't value the fact that self-care, that self-preservation are actually not only standards, but required, right? It's really critical that we are addressing all those elements because that's what's going to allow us to make that pivot, to make that really difficult decision to do something different. Because you can't operate, you can't make those big changes or align with your highest self or your highest good or those dreams, those visions that you have, until you are able to operate from a regulated space.

unknown:

Amen.

Host: Amanda:

So many of us walk around dysregulated. So dysregulated. And I encourage our listeners, as you're listening to Diana tell her story, think about what is one thing you can do today, tomorrow, tonight, that will help you regulate your nervous system. Because I know our listeners are ambitious, are audacious, they have visions, they have dreams, and they are on the cusp of their pivot or they're in the pivot and want to align. Turn inward. What do you need to do for yourself so that you can make that change? So you can truly, truly align. So I appreciate you sharing that part as well because it is so deep and it's so foundational. So foundational.

SPEAKER_02:

And it's simple, right? Because I think a lot of the times, I think maybe in the past, again, I just didn't give credence to how important it was for baseline self-care. Um, and I thought I could always work my way through it, right?

Host: Amanda:

You know, just will your way, like, right.

SPEAKER_02:

And it's just like my will at some point just gave way and was like, you're not gonna try to will your way out of this thing. But it started with something so simple. Like I didn't have to invest a lot in saying to myself, I'm gonna give myself more sleep. Right, yeah, yeah. It's that simple, it was not, it it's it doesn't require a lot to take in my mind. Why it actually let me take that back because it did. It took me a long time to get to that point.

Host: Amanda:

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02:

But when I got there, I did it with just getting more rest. And eventually, even those small things, I feel like it started to snowball into more intentional effort around prioritizing me and my happiness and my care, and so that I could show up because I wanted to show up in my best light, not in this broken doll who was literally just responding and reacting to things as opposed to being able to have a semblance of um control over my life in a certain sense.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah. No, that makes sense, right? Because we feel like things, because we're feeling so dysregulated, we feel like we can't regulate anything else in our life, right? We feel like everything's outside of our control, our day, you know, and naturally we know, right? Like things happen. We're not in control of everything in our life. We know that. But what can we manage? What can we actually do? You still have free will, you still have decisions you can make. And it can start with centering yourself. It can start with centering your care, is what I'm hearing from you. Center your care as you are just navigating life because you know, I for one, and I do a lot, you know, work full-time, I'm a therapist, I have the podcasts, you know, I'm growing my therapy practice, I'm growing Audacious Black Girl. And I tend to get cold sores. I started getting them about 18 years old. I my mom gets cold sores, and I remember I was like 18 and I drank a cup from her, and I didn't know she had a cold sore. So from then, oh my gosh. But for me, I get them when my body is under a lot of stress, and I had one a couple Weeks ago, and I was trying to will my way through all the things that I have going on. Growing my practice, like I said, Audacious Black Girl, building my platform, all these things I have going on. And then boom, I get a cold sore. But there were signs. My body needed more rest. I was feeling more stress. But we we tend to think tomorrow, tomorrow. And I'm sharing this story not only in resonance, but also in the fact that this isn't a linear journey when it comes to like your care. Like this is something that's like a roller coaster that you have to keep coming back to. And we get those moments when it's like that wake up call, like, girl, like that was my wake-up call. Manda, like you've been ignoring so much. Do I work out? Yes. Do I meditate? Yes. Do I journal? Yes. But what I actually needed was true rest. And I've been on the grind for entirely too long. And we have to recognize that we have seasons. And that's something I have to always be reminded of. There is a season for that motivation, that discipline. And then there's a season of rest, the season of planting the seed, and the season of watering it, and the season of letting it rest and seeing, allowing it to grow, to see where it lands. And what might sit might get in that cold sore was that reminder, girl, sit your butt down and rest. You've been doing a lot.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I love that because you just called out something for me, which is what I realized through astrology when I was trying to tell you when I was saying earlier how the language of astrology is what really brought home these foundational self-the necessity for doing the foundational self-care. Um it astrology has shown me how important our bodies are as sensors. You mentioned getting sort before, you know, and and that was the realization your body telling you, showing you, listen, this you are doing too much. Yes. I had a similar example. I was getting ready for a workshop that I did on um using our astrology placements to access pleasure and connection to our bodies. And I got really sick the Tuesday before I was supposed to present. I got what I call my performance virus. I was so stressed out and just nervous because I want everything to be right. And I was I was concerned that I wouldn't be able to, you know, really help these women understand how to connect pleasure to their astrology placements. And the same deal. I got sick, I was I was like literally knocked out, and I had to tell the people who are very supportive around me now. Yeah, mommy's tired, uh astrology Diana is tired, and lawyer, part-time lawyer Diana is tired, and it was so wonderful because everyone in my space was like, let's give her her space to rest. And by that weekend, I was in great shape to do the work, to do the workshop. So our bodies, yeah, our bodies are tremendous sensors for us about what it is we need, and and they alert us to where we are not paying attention and what we need to pay attention to.

Host: Amanda:

Oh, yeah. And I would say, just to add on to that part, last summer, um, I did a really big speaking engagement in Chicago. I did two workshops back to back, and it was wonderful. But the work it takes leading up to there, right? The preparation, and then you have your own. I don't care how long you've been doing this for, like as me as a speaker for a long time, it doesn't matter. I still get those nerves, right? Like I still get that bit of like anxiety because you just want to perform well, you just want your message to resonate. And I remember after I was done, I went back to my hotel room. And when I tell you I fell apart, I fell apart. Like I was so exhausted. I had like some networking event to attend after I could, I couldn't go. And I didn't realize how much I was holding it together. I was holding it together for so long, everything just to make it through. And the moment I made it through, my body just went, girl, it I just collapsed onto that bed and I slept for hours. For hours. Oh my gosh. But you know, that happens as well. It's just like we have to pay attention to one, I know we hold it together, right? Like you gotta kind of sometimes you do have to muster through certain things, but now I recognize the importance of aftercare, you know, because sometimes we kind of muscle through and then we think we can continue to muscle through, muscle through, but aftercare is so critical for us audacious, ambitious black women. Take care of yourself. You're doing important work or you're about to do important work, remember to take care of yourself after because it can be so difficult to recover if we don't center it.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, 100%. And it's and and just remember for those of us who've been trained and taught, because that was the way I grew up was you know, push through, push through, push through, you could do this. You know, I've I saw the example in my family of um, you know, Haitian immigrants to this country people who worked hard, multiple, did multiple jobs, and never really took, never took care of themselves. And so that was the model I was working from. And so um, for anyone who's had to work through and have grown up with that model, what you're talking about, Amanda, is just the importance of recognizing that season. There are seasons for pushing through, but we also have to balance those with seasons of softening and giving back to ourselves. I don't know anyone, I know in my 20s, I was, you know, I was it was great. I could do it. Oh but right.

SPEAKER_03:

Yes.

SPEAKER_01:

And now it's like, you know, 25 years later, it's like, no, no, not happening. Don't even try it at all.

Host: Amanda:

Not at all. I I um had like so the well, today it's June, today's Saturday when we're recording. I took the day off from work yesterday, my full-time job, because I just was burned out from the week. However, there were things I wanted to work on, you know, with my therapy practice. I'm growing that, so marketing and all that, and then Audacious Black Girl. So I remember thinking Thursday night, okay, Friday morning, I'm going to get up and I'm gonna get up at 5:30. And mind you, I have to get up at 4 o'clock, 4.15 every morning to drive to DC to go to work, right? So I told myself I'm gonna get up at 5:30. Yeah, I work at 6 a.m. I work I work at 6 a.m. in DC. I have to, it's DC. You know how traffic is. Thank goodness we go for now. I do work for the government, so for now we are able to have some little bit of flexible flexibility with our schedule or keep our schedule up anyway. Um, so I remember thinking, okay, I'm gonna wake up Friday morning. I'm going to work on the podcast, I'm gonna do all these things. I didn't get up until like 7 a.m. Friday morning. And I said, girl, why in the hell were you gonna do more work on your day off? You took the day off to rest and you want to continue to work. You know what I'm saying? And I I and and and even this morning, this Saturday morning, I slept in as well. And I was saying to myself, Manda, at this stage in my life, because back in my early 30s and 20s, I could do those things. But at this stage in my life, I need more rest. I need, and I've been asking myself this question this week, actually, because I was recognizing the burnout and trying to recover from you know what I've been through. Instead of asked making my like to-do list and go, okay, what time am I gonna do this and do that? I asked myself, what is what what is my capacity today? What do I have the capacity to do? And in asking that question, the clarity that came, just from asking that question, I recognized what was truly important for me and what wasn't, at least for that day, at least for that moment. What is my capacity? What do I have the capacity to do today? And that changed the game.

SPEAKER_01:

I love that.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, it's gonna be an active practice for me as well. And our listeners ask yourself that question, what do I have capacity for today? And that's gonna change your whole mindset, right?

SPEAKER_02:

It does. I've actually um I my best friend and I, we do it with each other. Oh, we have to sort of you know, so that we because the we're all we're in Gemini season right now, which I think is really poignant because Gemini season has a lot to do with being becoming aware of the choices we have, right? Options, right? They become they tend to become clearer for us during the season, and we tend to and so perspective, sharing perspective is also important for this season. And so we've been sharing our to-do list with each other on a daily basis and identifying the things that we actually have the capacity to do. And it's so interesting because she'll check me, she'll be like, Okay, you just let rambled off. You like seven things you think you're gonna get done today. Um, you might want to revisit that and really focus on maybe doing two things because the seven things you just mentioned aren't, you know, seven little nothing burgers. Having that, um knowing that I have option to choose something different for myself and having the perspective of another voice looking at what I'm trying to do, you know, having come from basically having ingrained in me this be tough all the time attitude and push through attitude, it's wonderful to be able to make the choice to say, no, I'm good, I'm not gonna overwhelm myself today because I don't have to.

unknown:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

I don't, and that's a choice.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, that's a choice, absolutely. And every once again, free will. Like, what are we choosing to do? What are we choosing to do? And even if you feel like I don't, my day is, you know, super busy, I don't have this, that, and other, like time is limited. I have these things I actually need to do to make money for survival, for living, basic needs, completely understand that absolutely. And I always encourage people to think about just micro things, really tiny things you can do in your day to kind of nourish yourself a bit more so that you can continue to do those things that you need to get done, right? It could be small practices, it could be checking with a friend, like you said, checking in and like, okay, I have all these things going on. Please help me. Help me figure out what I need to do. Let me know if I'm being, you know, doing exactly and doing too too much, taking a five minutes to rest. Like, even though like I get up super early and I go into my office, I still take time to meditate, to journal, because that is how I nourish myself. And we all can make a choice to do something small. It only takes me five to ten minutes to get that done, you know. So I appreciate you mentioning that the power of choice.

SPEAKER_02:

Thanks for opening up the space to make that observation.

Host: Amanda:

So let's pivot a bit into astrology for our listeners and how astrology can be so helpful. I'm an astrology girly. I absolutely love learning about my chart, about who I am. And essentially, like this is like your blueprint. This is your manuscript for life for me. That's how I view it, right? Do we have free will? Absolutely. But I think our chart can give us that guidance and how we live life and operate life. So if you can talk about how do you view astrology in that way, like when you're helping someone understand their chart and understanding their life.

SPEAKER_02:

A hundred percent. So I'll start with the foundation of what I believe because I think that's important. Every practitioner is different. For me, I believe that whoever you identify as source is ultimately who created this system of astrology. I believe that we were meant to have access to it. I believe that we were meant to understand that we have a blueprint, which is basically a snapshot of the planets and the lights, the sun and moon, in the sky at the time we were born and took our first breath. The placement of the sun and the moon, and what's called your rising um and the ascendant, and your Mercury, Venus, Mars, they're all important to help us understand what lessons we're here to learn. Okay, what gifts we naturally have, what plot what our plot line is, what things help to nourish us and create that feeling of help us to create our own feelings of safety and security. What we love, what we naturally attract, and that's just me talking about sun, moon, and Venus without identifying them. So we have, we're not just our sun placements, which a lot of people have believed because you know, astrology has been around for quite some time, but a lot of it has been distilled down to sun sign horoscopes, which I'm so excited about this season we're in now because you have people like you and me who are looking at it and saying, oh my god, astrology isn't just this sun sign uh woo-woo. It's so much more. It really does help show us who we are and what we're here to do. And I absolutely like a hundred percent. I was like, I need to know how to take this language and translate it in a way that can help me connect to all the people I love. I was born under what's called a disseminating moon, and that's someone who someone born under a disseminating moon is someone who likes to scatter and share information, okay? That couple, and this is what I was finding in my chart. So let me, I'm jumping. You see, I'm I'm starting to like my rising thing. Yeah, but I just started, I was like, my Amanda, my mind was blown. I was just like, what you mean to tell me that you know, I was in, I started, I I started with self-study, and then I was just like, I need to know how to teach this and share this. Yes, and I was fine because I was finding out all of this, like, I'm I'm learning what my inner I am is. My blueprint is starting to make sense. I know what my Venus in this house means and what I can try to do with it, and the potential that's there, right? So that's the free will piece that you spoke of. That we have this blueprint which we have the free will to access and work with it. And there's also fate. So we're working with the combination of the both of both. And I'm I look at it as we have opportunities to to co-create with the universe and helping to understand understanding our birth charts. Really does help us to get into that space where we can co-create, where we can exercise our free will, where we can tap into the things and help us to nourish ourselves, where we can find out our inner astrology for me is so much about empowerment. That is ultimately, fundamentally why I wanted to do this and share astrology with people, because I was finding myself empowered by what I was learning. And I was like, I don't, I want to take my counseling skills as a lawyer and finally do counseling the way that I know I was meant to be doing it, which is to working with people directly to help them understand how they can work with their charts to tap into that blueprint, to tap into their to empower themselves, and to be able to do what I did, which was to take that crazy leap and say, I'm not gonna do this anymore. This is unsustainable. The village that I built is burning. The infrastructure that I thought I had was not existent, it was on rickety foundation.

Host: Amanda:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

And it was through looking at my astrology placements, I was able to give context to the why I needed to have that infrastructure breakdown to show me that the the foundation I had built was not strong. It wasn't secure.

Host: Amanda:

Wow. Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

And and then to take that and to share it with other people who are willing to listen and understand how that the language of astrology can help can help them.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my goodness. I love how passionate you just got about it. I can tell how much it lit you up, and I can tell how aligned you are in your purpose and your mission, how you describe that. No, and it's so beautiful to witness and to see. So congrats on where you are and for being aligned, and that's beautiful. And I wonder for you in that pivot, in everything you're saying, and I guess for our listeners too, what parts of your chart? And I know the chart tells a story. We it's it's just a we can't just isolate different elements of it, right? But maybe what was the most significant part for you that kind of helped you really align? And then what should our listeners maybe pay attention to, especially if they're like beginners and like looking at their chart and kind of trying to understand where should I be looking at right now?

SPEAKER_02:

So a couple of things. I first of all, you do want to understand, you want to take a look at your entire chart because it the entire chart itself tells a story that's important to understand. As part of my practice, I do isolate placements or especially if a client is working through a particular issue and we need to basically I call it alchemy.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh yes, I love that change.

SPEAKER_02:

For me, my chart was, I mean, some of the things that I was starting to see looking at my chart was number one, how I had a um, I have what's called Sun and I have a Sun Square Saturn in my chart. Um the sun shows our plot line, Saturn shows where we are maturing, where we go through hard lessons. And I learned that I had a daddy issue. Knowing it, I mean, I had an interesting, rough relationship with my own father growing up. But what was happening with that aspect, it wasn't a hard aspect, a square. I realized it was able to show give voice. The testimony between Sun and Saturn informed for me a cycle that I had been going through with authority figures in my life where I was looking for a father to save me, okay? Wow, to take to help me and where really I was meant to help myself and not rely on the father figure to provide for me in a way I wasn't providing for myself. That was just one lesson. I also learned that I had a I had a Libra stellium in my chart, and how that was manifesting for me was I was dealing with cycles of people pleasing, of saying yes to everybody and not checking in with myself about what it is I wanted to do. I was constantly saying yes to make myself more palatable, to make people to so that people would like me and what that was doing to me, because I wasn't checking in with do I want to do this? I was essentially creating more burden for myself because I was committing to things that I didn't necessarily want to do. So that's just two. Two or three.

Host: Amanda:

I mean, I can keep told those are major, right? Yeah, those are major. And uh so for our listeners, can you tell them two things? What does it mean when a sign is square, a planet, right? What that square means, and then what a stellium means.

SPEAKER_02:

Thank you. So I'll roll that. Thank you for um giving me the opportunity to explain a little bit better. The square, um, if you see planets or points in what's called a square to each other, it means squares are associated with tension and conflict.

SPEAKER_03:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

Squares in the chart show up as a tension that needs to be resolved, but oftentimes it can't be. You often have to choose one option or the other. So it's something that you we tend have to be intentional about because either we go one direction or the other. And in this case, I was learning that I couldn't necessarily I didn't have a father figure. I didn't have to rely on the father figure. I had my own solar identity that I needed to control I needed to explore, which is in this case, my Capricorn son. Capricorn as an archetype, one of the lessons Capricorn, a Capricorn sign son is here to learn is how to provide for yourself and how to provide for others and do it in a way where you actually love and accept the responsibility. Capricorn is here to learn about accepting responsibility. It's it's it's it's it's very interesting. The stellium, a stellium in astrology is anytime someone has, um, in this case, multiple planets or points in a particular zodiac sign. And in my chart, I have three planets in the zodiac sign of Libra. And so the zodiac signs in astrology, they show the expression of the planets. So the planets are what we call the what's. They're if you think about it as a play in astrology, when we're looking at a birth chart, the planets are like the actors in the play. So the sun is an actor, and the sun is acting the acting out the narrow the narrative or the storyline of what the plot line is. That's what the sun shows. It's our plot line, and the zodiac signs are the expression of that plot line. So in this case, my Capricorn son was learning how to. I mixed um mixed uses here. Going back to um the Libra example, so the three planets are the actors, and the expression is Libra. And Libra is here to learn relational integrity. Okay, they're here to integrate opposites, and they're here to do it in a way that doesn't take from the self to give to others. It's meant to integrate self and other in a way that doesn't compromise self. And so when I learned that, it made my decision to, I started just saying no to people, and I meant my and understanding I had, I didn't have to say yes.

Host: Amanda:

Right. That part.

SPEAKER_02:

Did that answer your question?

Host: Amanda:

Absolutely. No, I wanted just the listeners to have an understanding of what does that mean? You know, because especially me as someone who I do love astrology and I'm studying it, finding out that I had a stellium, I have a Sagittarius stellium in my chart, and I will get into some of that a little bit. Um, and I'm I'm a Libra sun, I'm a Capricorn moon, a Leo ascendant. Um, so, and then understanding trine, Saturn, all these astrological terms that we're not going to get super deep into, but like just having the understanding that they can ground us in what we're talking about. So I appreciate you giving our listeners like that visual, especially like the actor and the you know, just what the planet and what the signs actually mean, because I know that and the houses, all those things really gave me clarity in how to look at my chart and how to understand what everything meant. So thank you for that. Yeah, thank you. So you're gonna give me a little astrology reading, and this is something you do, this is your your job. You give readings to people, right? Yes, astrological counselor.

SPEAKER_02:

So I do as part of my bread and butter right now, and what I really enjoy is working, sitting with you and looking at your tool. In this case, I'm gonna hold it up even though this is heavily annotated, a birth part, okay. And working with my clients to, I mean, I marked it up so so much you can't even see, but just walking through in most instances, Amanda, someone will come to me with a question, okay, and say, Right, um, I want to get a reading, I want to understand why my love life stinks right now. Can you help me out using astrology? And it's interesting because oftentimes I'm one of one of multiple practitioners in the in the spiritual space that people will come to see about these type of issues. Like you go to an astrologer, some people will go to a tarot reader, um, right, you know, some people go to their pastors. So there's multiple ways you could look at the issue. In astrology, come to me for an astrology reading. We're gonna go, we're gonna pull up your chart, and we're gonna look at love, and we're gonna identify love by looking at a couple of places in the chart, including um looking at your Venus placement. Because Venus in astrology governs things like love, pleasure, creativity, um, how you magnetize things towards you, the kinds of friends you keep, and what you like aesthetically. So there are indicators, those symbols in the chart, they are the gateways for understanding what message God above has conveyed, is conveying to us through the lens of our birth chart. I would look at Venus, I would look at the seventh house in the chart, because the seventh house governs our committed soul contract relationships. So anytime there's activity happening in the seventh house, that's very important to note from a relationship and love standpoint. So that's what I do. And it's so fun.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, it's it's fun, it's fascinating. Like I said, I just I I love astrology. Um, I love studying it, and it's just always I've always gained so so much from the study of astrology. And even right now, um, Saturn is in its return, right? Um, I forget where plan where what uh what sign Saturn is in right now. Um, but I think a lot of people are experiencing a Saturn return.

SPEAKER_02:

So a lot of people are experiencing, so Saturn just moved. Saturn is associated, think about Saturn if you want to talk, we're talking about actors. Saturn is um as an actor, it's like the high school principal or the high school guidance counselor who has to graduate you onto the next your next phase of life. But if you don't do the work, you get held back. So oftentimes people experience Saturn as limiting, but really Saturn is meant to mature us. Saturn is meant to show us the things that we need to, like the steps we need to implement, i.e., the guidance counselor, in order to move on to the next phase of life. And if you don't do your Saturn homework, and this is the reason why people struggle with Saturn, Saturn, my experience with Saturn is Saturn will manifest as real hard physical karma, like real stuff that happens in the life, that is very visible, that is very hard to deal with, and it's meant to mature us, it's meant to show us that we have the tools and the abilities to get through the hard things oftentimes to do the work to get to that next phase of maturity in our life. And so a lot of people right now have um Saturn in the sign of Aries, and so anyone who has in their birth chart Saturn in Aries is experiencing that very um the Saturn return. And so for many people, it can feel like um the lesson of Saturn. So Saturn is that high school guidance counselor or principal with the checklist saying you gotta do this, and the sign of Aries is all about pioneering independence, um, doing new things, taking a leap of faith. And so for those people, they're gonna be trying to do that in some way. And Saturn is here to say, I will encourage you to you can glow up mature through your independence, this new project, this new creative vision. But are have you done are you doing the legwork? Are you cutting steps?

Host: Amanda:

Right. Oh my goodness, it's fascinating. And we're recording on June 7th. Uh, I don't know when this episode's gonna come out, but I think how long is Saturn gonna be in Aries?

SPEAKER_02:

So Saturn is giving us a preview right now, wherever each of us has Aries in our birth chart, is where we're getting us, we're getting a preview of flavor. So all of us are dealing with Saturn and Aries collectively. People who have Saturn and Aries when they were born, they're dealing with their return. Okay, so it's a little bit more concrete for them. Saturn's giving us a preview of what these checklist items are in the in the area of our life where we're trying to do something new, something creative, something pioneering until November, I believe. Okay. Okay. And then it's gonna go back into Pisces for us to close some things out.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

unknown:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

And then yeah, and we're gonna have Saturn and Aries for about three years. Saturn takes about three years to move through each zodiac sign.

Host: Amanda:

We just it's a slow moving planet, is that right?

SPEAKER_02:

It is a slow, it is a slow moving planet. It's not one of the slowest, but it is a slow moving planet, and we definitely feel the Saturn influence in our lives when Saturn is aspecting certain things in our charts.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my goodness, it's just so fascinating. I'm obsessed and love it. Um so where should we start in my chart then? So, just so people know, um, I gave Diana my birth date, my birth time, and my birth location. And she um put it into this website where she pulled up my natal chart, and that's for anyone. Um, when you're looking up your birth chart, those are the three things that you need. I didn't have my birth date until maybe like a few years ago. I had to request a long form of my birth certificate because I didn't know my birth time at all. And it just changed the game for me. So I would highly recommend for anyone if you don't have your birth time to get that long form birth certificate or ask your parents, ask you know, someone who raised you what that time is because that's how you are able to pull up your birth chart. And I think you use what website did you use?

SPEAKER_02:

So for pulling up your chart, I have um professional, I have my own astrology.

Host: Amanda:

Oh, professional software.

SPEAKER_02:

But for purposes of helping people pull their charts, I often use astro.com and because it's free, it's um online, and anyone who's interested in seeing what their chart looks like can just plug in, like you said, their birthday. Birth time is very important because that's what helps to understand where in what areas of life certain lessons are playing out, and then also your where you were born. And once you um maybe one of these days we could do a session where I help people figure out how to pull their own birth charts because there's a little bit you need to know how to do, um, especially if you're trying to pull out certain pieces of information. But that's where they would go. They would go on a website like ash show.com and they could pull their chart. A lot of people have apps, a lot of people use astrology apps and have them readily accessible. And for the people who have apps, they have a little bit more guidance because the chart itself is not, if you're not an astrologer, trying to interpret these people is a lot. So that's why some people have apps that they use. And then for everyone else, even the ones with the apps, they come to me and say, Hey, I I I want to know more. I get you know all this guidance and this app, but I really need you to look at my chart with more with a specific eye for what's going on in my chart.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, yeah, definitely book your session. We'll do it, tell people where to find you at the end, but definitely book a session with Diana, because I think you're able to probably, well, which we're gonna do here in a second, tell a story, you know. Because I think as a person who's reading, who's just like looking at your chart, okay, all these elements I'm being told it means this and that, but how does it link? How does that tell a bigger picture? So, okay, let's get into my chart. What did what did you explore? Where should we start?

SPEAKER_02:

So, first of all, I want to say thank you for sending me your chart in advance because it gives me the opportunity to really meditate on what the planets are trying to say and speak in the context of your chart. Um, so I love that because I've had a couple of days just to sit with the information. Um I typically start my readings with looking at the sun, moon, and rising placements because as you know, those are considered our big three. Yes. Um they tend to convey like it's important to know all of our placements because they all have goodies for us to understand. But most people, if you had to think of the three placements that you should really understand, it's the sun, the moon, and the rising sign. What's interesting is that I typically do that, but when I was looking at your chart, I was just like, the transits are speaking very loudly for you right now. And the transits are where the planets are in the sky right now relative to your chart. So, what I think I'm gonna do instead, because I want to spend some time looking at your transits, so we could talk about what's been showing up for you right now. Oh my gosh, yes. I'm gonna I'll do a quick, I'm gonna look at my notes, we'll do a quick sun, moon, rising, and then we'll put it to where the sun and the moon currently in the sky were pointing me to talk to you about today. Does that work?

Host: Amanda:

Okay, oh my gosh, absolutely. Let's go. I'm excited.

SPEAKER_02:

All right, so let's start with your big three, your star players. So um, your big three, the sun, has a lot to say about your plot line. The moon placement has a lot to say about what you need to nurture yourself, and the environment that you tend to be oriented to.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

And your rising sign is about who you are, your physical appearance, what role or character you're sort of here to play, how others perceive you. If you want to know who someone is, you want to look at their rising and the ruler of their rising sign. Okay, that's super important. So if you think about it, plot line, environment you're emotionally oriented to, what your things you can do to make yourself feel safe, secure, and nurtured, and then who you are, that's like that's really even right there. That's a lot of information.

Host: Amanda:

That's a lot. Okay. Oh yeah. Oh yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So in this case, you are a um, let's start with your Leo rising, okay? Um, because your Leo rising in this case. I see. I did my notes, I printed my notes backspace.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

So we'll start with your rising. Um you have your chart in front of you. So you know your rising is in your first house. The first house. The houses are important. I told you the planets are the actors, they tell the story of what is happening, what lesson is playing out. The sign, the zodiac sign, shows how that actor is expressing the energy. And the house placement is important because it identifies the area of life where the story is playing out. And so, in when we talk about the rising, the the story is playing out in the first house of self. That's another reason why it's associated with identity and who you are. So, if you want to know someone's personality and how they navigate the world, you look at the rising, the sign it's in, the ruler of the sign, and any other planets. In this case, you don't have any planets in your first house, okay? You are a Leo rising, which is a fire sign, and that's important because fire signs are here to inspire, they're here to be bold, they're here to create, okay? They're here to be, and in Leo, the Leo archetype is here to be a leader that leads from the heart. Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_01:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

Leo is here, a first house, Leo, rising in Leo is here to embody what's radiant self-expression. Okay.

SPEAKER_03:

Oh my god.

SPEAKER_02:

Leo's here to shine unapologetically and uplift others. Leo's here to be authentic, confident, here to learn how to be seen, sorry, felt and not just seen. Oof.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah, Leo's here to talk about.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, I'm sure. Leo is also here to learn how not to wear a mask, to not just be performative, but real.

Host: Amanda:

Resonates.

SPEAKER_02:

To show your warmth and your tenderness, and to take on roles where you inspire through creative courage. I said uplifting others, I think already. You're also learning generosity, shedding ego, mentoring others, and learning how to give others space to shine or take up more space, depending on how you've been doing your Leo. Sometimes you're learning how to take up more space, and often other times you can be learning how to share the stage with others.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02:

And so when I was uh taking these notes, how does that does that resonate for you?

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh, so deeply all of it, especially well, all of it, but like the part there about um learning to like sharing space with others, which is why I have my podcast. I just want to amplify our voices, right? And but that I had to recognize that in amplifying my own, that I'm also able to amplify others at the same time, just as we are speaking. My voice is being amplified, and so is yours. So that that all that resonates. So all of it resonates deeply, but yes, please go on.

SPEAKER_02:

So, and I just love this because when I looked at the name of your podcast, I was like, this can be more Leo rising. Audacious black girl is not, is that not the embodiment of radicals like the gathering? Unapologically, unapologetically being here and like having authentic conversations about black womanhood. Like I'm just being audacious about it.

Host: Amanda:

I was like, that's very Leo rising, right? Um now that you say that, yes, it is. I never put that together, but it definitely is. It just all it's aligned, absolutely aligned.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, that's good. Thank you for taking those words back because I wanted to tell you, just like you said, I I feel like I'm I'm living in alignment with my purpose. Yeah. Just the that was evidence to me. Seeing Audacious Black Girl and thinking about that. I was writing out the Leo Rising notes, I was like, you are living in alignment with that purpose right now. Okay.

Host: Amanda:

Wow. Thank you.

SPEAKER_02:

So the you're very welcome. The other thing that's important to know when you're looking at the rising is you need to understand the ruler, which planets govern those, that particular house and that sign. Um, in this case, Leo is governed by the sun. So your sun placement and your Leo placement, they speak to each other. And so if the rising is who you are, it's like your persona. Remember that I mentioned earlier, the sun also has many different meetings, but meanings, but for the purposes of keeping our discussion simple, just think of the sun for this case as your plot line, your core identity, and um what fuels your vitality. It's like your soul's expression. And your son is in the sign of Libra. Did you remember? If you remember earlier, I said Libra is here, who is someone with a son in Libra. You're here to be shaped by the pursuit of balance, fairness, equity, and to do it in the context of connecting with other people.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh, yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, you strongly uh um Libra signature in your chart because you also have a Libra stellium in your chart. You have three planets in Libra: your Mercury placement, how you think, reason, and communicate. I didn't know your Pluto placement, yes, the shadow work that you're doing has involved relationship dynamics and your sun. So that's a powerful Libra signature in your chart. And when I see what you in community and how much you do as far as the diversity, equity, include and inclusion work that you've done. Yes, and that is like the quintessential Libra finding fairness and balance and dealing with people who are different from you in some way, yeah. Like you're sending practitioners out in the world and teaching them how to see their clients from a more equitable point and lens.

Host: Amanda:

Wow. Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

And so for that sun, your son is working with your, I'll tell you how the sun is informing your rising, but a couple of things is with that Libra sun, you're vitalized in connection. Like you have to work with people. You have other signatures in your chart that scream this is someone who's here relating. Relating is what you are here to do. And I love that you're in alignment with that. You're finding inner and outer balance. Okay, think about Libra and the Libra representing the scales and justice, social justice.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh. Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Remember, I said earlier, Libra is here to learn relational integrity, but to stand in what you believe and stay, but also stay open to others. So you're learning how to integrate opposing viewpoints and dealing with I would say often probably difficult people, and finding out a way to hold your own space, right? Yeah. Exploring opposites, bridging differences between people is something Libra's sons are often about. And um you're often Libra like a mirror for other people, so they reflect certain things back to you that oftentimes you do need to see about yourself so that you can refine something about yourself. Yeah. Can I pause it for just a second?

Host: Amanda:

Yes, and absolutely that that that part resonates so deeply because um something, oh my gosh, something I tell all my clients when they I tell them my philosophy as a therapist is that I'm holding up a mirror and I'm just twisting it a little bit so you can see something different.

SPEAKER_02:

You and you you're recognizing that part of your mind.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh, yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

I think that's so beautiful. It's like that is your soul's core essence. The plot line of you is to be able to show people a different side of themselves to help them see themselves.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, yeah. Oh my gosh. Oh, I love it.

SPEAKER_02:

This is how I felt. This is again, I think you're starting to see why I love this. I get I get the all my Gemini Rising comes out when they start talking about it.

Host: Amanda:

My gosh, and the importance of having someone who's a professional at this explain it to you. Yeah, yeah, because having my own understanding of it is one thing, but I I'm I'm just in awe and just so fascinated by what you see and how you're making these connections and the language you're using. And I'm just everyone needs a reading, everyone needs a reading. Oh my gosh, I agree. You go ahead.

SPEAKER_02:

I get other astrologers to read my chart, right? Because there's only so much I can see.

Host: Amanda:

I that's why this is our own perspective.

SPEAKER_02:

We have to, yeah. Yeah, yeah. So I and that's super important. So because we can only see so much with about ourselves, and that's why it's important to have people you trust give you look at your chart and help you see uh things from a different lens. We do it in every aspect, right? Not just in chart reading. So your son vitalizes your rising, and in this case, your Libra sun fuels your Leo rising with the purpose and direction, which is why what you do is so fundamentally a core of your being and your podcast and the work you do as a um licensed clinician. If your rising is like, I want you to think about it this way: if we think of the rising as like the vehicle we're moving, driving through life, the sun is the engine. It's what's fueling the vehicle, okay? And so you instinctively show up as a Leo rising. You're warm, magnetic. I mean, you have a presence. I'm sure people have told you before, Amanda, that you just looking at your eyes like, I see the Leo, I see the Capricorn moon. I also see the Leo rising in just your natural aura. Um the the Libra sun is showing the deeper reason for why you're here, and that's the relational integrity. That's you relating to other people and teaching other people how to show up um in ways that are more equitable for all of us.

Host: Amanda:

I I have like my values, something it's called I call it my three C's. It's curiosity leads to connection, connection leads to community.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh my god, that's so on point with looking at your transits, which we're gonna pivot to in a little bit. But yeah, I mean it's it's just it's a huge signature. And so as I was again, as I was reading through this, I was like, Amanda's just doing the thing, um, and she's doing it in alignment with her chart. So far here, yeah, yeah, no 100%. Um so I mentioned earlier you have other planets in Libra, so you have Mercury, which shows how we think and communicate in Libra as well, which makes you quite the diplomatic thinker and speaker, and that you're fair and that you love, I mean you like balance and harmony and equal give and take.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, I do, yes. Yeah, oh my goodness.

SPEAKER_02:

Um and then Pluto in Libra adds a lot more depth to your expression, it just makes it more powerful. Um and as I mentioned before, with that Pluto placement and given where it is, I would imagine in the local community we've had to deal with some difficult issues when it comes to relating with people, maybe community leaders or just in the spaces that you show up on a day-to-day basis. There have been some challenges in the past. But Pluto is meant to strip away what's not necessary and empower us. So you may have removed certain relationships or dynamics or ways of being out of your life to empower yourself, including maybe releasing some people pleasing that you may have been doing in your life at one point.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, it's been a year's journey of no people pleasing, centering myself, and even as you're talking about Pluto and community and I mean um how I think and how I speak, deep conversations. I cannot do surface level, I can only do deep transformative conversations. Anything other than that, I'm I'm not interested.

SPEAKER_02:

I feel you, it it increases probably a little bit of tension because it's part of that foundational work of what you do. The the you know, the relating on the sort of like coffee shop level is something that is like an absolute necessity, and you do that with ease. You do I love coffee shops, yeah. But I feel you, I could see like the the need to like really get to the nitty-gritty of so important to you. And I mean it makes sense. You do you you you counsel people, and so surface level does not work when you're in counseling, right?

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh, no, yeah, not at all. Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So we're gonna do your moon and then we'll talk about transits. So you're you are a Capricorn moon, and the moon represents our inner emotional needs, what we need for safety, what we need for comfort. I call the moon placement the power behind the trunk, the throne of the star. If the sun represents our core plot line, our solar vitality, the moon represents what the inner self needs to feel to feel safe and to be optimized. And also the moon has many associations with mind and body, and so you have your moon in the sign of Capricorn, which is an earth sign. Okay, we had you have your Leo rising, which is fire. I didn't mention that Libra is air, so relating air signs want to connect to people, they want to talk, they do a lot of writing, they do a lot of speaking. Okay, that's how they connect. Capricorn in an earth sign is someone who wants to build something, they want to create a legacy. There's someone who earth signs tend to be seen as reliable, practical. Um, and the the sense I'm getting you have your moon, which is what your body needs, what your mind and body needs, what you need to optimize, how you process your feelings and emotions in the sign of Capricorn, which the moon does not love to be in. And the reason is Capricorn because the moon likes to be in soft places, the moon likes to be in cancer where it's comfortable, it likes to flow, it likes more ease. And so moon and Capricorn can often orient themselves, and this is why the moon does one of the reasons the moon doesn't love it, is because it can orient itself towards processing feelings through doing hard work. Yep. Does that does that sound about right?

Host: Amanda:

Oh, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Maybe you might have said like work sets you free or hard work. It's giving hard work sends you free, hard work pays off, which I I I I I'm a Capricorn son, so I've I've definitely used those as my models.

Host: Amanda:

It's been the struggle of my life to slow down, to find ease, to find peace, and to not work so hard. Like the other day, you know, I'm like I said, I'm doing many different things. And I remember I was just thinking to myself, oh my god, you are a hard worker. You are a hard worker. You need to rest. Like, I just remember kind of like making that connection there. And it's like I know I do everything I'm doing, I'm passionate about. But like, I don't know, it just something just hit me the other day. And I was like, you work really, really hard, Amanda. You should rest. And not to say that you need to work hard to rest, but I had to recognize that I've, like I was saying earlier, I was not in alignment like with the rest and the doing. So, yes, this definitely resonates so deeply.

SPEAKER_02:

And the method, one of the methods of astrology I've been studying right now is called the Hellenistic method, which looks at like old school traditional techniques that astrologers back in like seventh century BCE used to interpret charts. And there's a technique that I used when I was looking at your chart, it's called the perfection year, where we look at sort of what the year, what what the focus of the year is for you. And since your birthday last year, the focus of your year, and this will be until your next birthday coming up in October, that one is going to be on significant relationships. This one is about your day-to-day, the work, your hard work, your routines. There is a focus on figuring out a way to make your routines less stressful on your day-to-day. Um, for example, yeah, it's giving like you need to, or this is the time where you might be exploring ways to create sustainable structures that support your body and your emotions. When you said something earlier, when you're talking about what did you say earlier when you say, What did I have the capacity? What do I have the capacity to do? That is such a that is such a sixth house. Because the sixth house is again, it's associated with the hard work, hard work, conflict, the day-to-day, the routines. And so you're saying to yourself, what do I have the capacity to do? Amanda, that is powerful stuff because it tells me that you're softening your Capricorn.

Host: Amanda:

Thank you for that confirmation.

SPEAKER_02:

100%.

Host: Amanda:

Thank you for that.

SPEAKER_02:

You have to. You are in a season, um, especially for the next year, where rest is demanded of you. I feel like it's gonna be and it's powerful for you because through that you're gonna be breaking some kind of subconscious, deeply held beliefs that you had around what's required for your own self-nurturance. Moon and Capricorn kids often have had were kids who grew up with a lot of responsibility in their youth. This is the child who often had to maybe parent the parents, or one or more parents was not available to them. They were these are the children that you know were taken care of a lot in their youth. I often joke that for me, Capricorn, I've I've actually when if you look at old pictures of me, I've actually look younger now than I did when I was when I was younger. Capricorns often, you know, they go through really hard circumstances early in life because Capricorn is ruled by Saturn. That's why rulership is very important. And so with Saturn, things come over time, and so over time you've seen maybe you've started to identify, you don't, you don't, you're not doing all of that anymore. Yes, but you're making more deliberate choices about the responsibilities that you're going to take on and accept. Yes. And you have to learn not to say, not to take on a responsibility that you do not want.

Host: Amanda:

That's the biggest lesson. Yeah. That's definitely something that resonates.

SPEAKER_02:

And you know why? Because it will feel like a burden and it will resonate as a cold sore or something else that you don't want to do.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah. Yep. There we go. Oh yeah. Oh yeah. And that's something that's been in my space a lot lately is am I doing what I want? And if I'm not, what do I need to release? And the difficulty for me, because I am someone who is so ambitious, so audacious, I have so many passions, so many ideas. It's like I want to explore everything, I want to do everything, but I have to ground myself in what do I have the capacity to do and recognize that time is not limited. Time is not limited, that I need to do what is going to allow me to yes, continue to be my ambitious, audacious self, but also rest, relax, not stress, all those things. I think that once again resonates.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, no, I and it's also made um, to be honest with you, more difficult because you're also in what's called a progressed Sagittarius. We should do a reading because there's I have so many notes for you. You're in a progressed Sagittarius sun season, which means that you're definitely feeling a lot more passion, zest, and creativity for your own creative projects. Like this is a season of transformation where it's coming.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh!

SPEAKER_02:

But it's a 30-year season, okay. So this is the under your underlying interwiring, and the meantime, so you're gonna have to balance the desire to do a lot new and different, and to be like give birth to new babies, okay? Yeah, new creative projects, yeah. Balancing that with this season of taking the time this next year to recharge your body, let yourself soften, surrender to the flow, understand what you just said and make it real that you are always on time, you're not missing out on anything when you say no to something.

Host: Amanda:

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02:

Giving yourself the time to decide whether you really want to do it and whether it's worth your time. Because I also see in your chart that you've, you know, have picked on projects that have been, you know, taking on more than you than you need to, and it's come at your own expense. Right? Because you're very service-oriented, extremely service-oriented. And so oftentimes it could mean doing a lot and then not getting what what you're worth in return. And so it's for you softening, surrendering, knowing that you are not missing out, that you're that you're going to that you're going to achieve what you set out to achieve. Trust the timing, Amanda.

Host: Amanda:

Trust the timing.

SPEAKER_02:

Trust the timing, trust your body. So let's talk more about the timing because that's the other piece of it. So I talked about your big three, which are foundational to your natal chart. I gave you a very quick overview of sun, moon, and rising. What's interesting is your sun and your rising work very well together. It's air and fire. Okay. They they they they spark, they like create more you relating to people, like dispers more ideas. I mean, they're working hand in hand. The Capricorn Moon is Earth. There's conflict there, right? Sort of like Capricorn Moon wants to realize all those dreams and those activities that you've that you've that your sun and your rising want. But we are talking about the way to work with your moon, which is to do less Capricorn and try to do more cancer, which is the opposite sign of Capricorn. Often when we're overdoing one energy, like Capricorn. We need to go and look at the sister sign on the other side of the zodiac wheel, which is cancer.

Host: Amanda:

Oh, that's so good to know. Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, and cancer is demanding that you soften. You're also in uh progressed cancer moon phase. So your moon, you're so you're actually integrating the side of you that is an overproducer and a and an achiever with the side of you that embraces nurture and care and rest and okay mothering the self. It's in a season of where you're exploring what it means to mother yourself in the way that you probably your inner child would have liked to have been mothered. Oh my gosh.

Host: Amanda:

Oh, that's so deep. That is so deep. And that's making me think about how we were talking about earlier, where I've just been waking up and I'm just on these days where I'm supposed to rest, but I'm like, no, I'm gonna do some extra work. I've just been waking up going, oh hell no. Like you literally don't have the capacity to do that. You actually need to rest, and I'm choosing that instead.

SPEAKER_02:

Choose that for the next yeah, choose that for how long 14 months. Okay. Your moon is gonna progress. What I'm looking at will move into Leo after about you'll start to feel more Leo Leo 9. The moon will move into your Leo house. One of this this chart, this this aspect that I'm talking about. For the next 14 months, you're doing resting and you're you're doing rest and recuperation. Right. Retreats.

Host: Amanda:

And then I get to be in my Leo.

SPEAKER_02:

And then you then you're gonna be fully into your you're gonna be doing your Leo, but you're still gonna be doing all your prep work and everything. But just prioritizing the taking care and self-nurture for the next 14 months.

Host: Amanda:

You said retreats. What else should I be doing?

SPEAKER_02:

You should be doing a more can you've already identified some of the things you've been doing, which is right journaling. Okay. Yeah. Asking yourself daily, what do I have the capacity to do? The moon is the stuff. Remember, think of the moon as how we optimize ourselves.

unknown:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

And I taught mentioned earlier that you're in this um re-optimizing your day-to-day and your schedule and routine. So things in your schedule that are not aligned with who you're becoming. What are you going to be? How are those things going to fall away so that you have more room for yourself and for your self-care?

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

So it's almost giving like there's a way you do systems really well. There's a way you can optimize your system to give you more of what you need, which is the solitude, journaling, writing. I said spas.

Host: Amanda:

You can give yourself big on spas, yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Answers a water sign, so soften spend time around the water.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Oh, yeah. Those are all things.

Host: Amanda:

I've been being called to water lately too. And I've been actually, there's a spa here. We're in a DMV, and there's a spa I tend to go to usually go actually around the full moon, usually on the full moon. And the spa it's it's um, they have something called the healing waters. So it's a uh hot tub, it's a pool, there's a sauna, there's a vitamin C shower. So I try to go there usually on the full moon to release, and like I've just been called for the past year. Are you gonna go this? I was actually thinking about that this morning. I was like, oh, I don't have anything planned next Saturday, which is I think the full moon is next Saturday or maybe a little before.

SPEAKER_02:

It's gonna be Wednesday.

Host: Amanda:

This Wednesday, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

So full moon in Sagittarius is gonna be on Wednesday, I believe, the 11th, if that's the and so you don't have to do it the day of, but if you schedule it for the weekend, yeah, perfect, wonderful.

Host: Amanda:

I was just thinking about that. And also have a beautiful tub, and I could just sometimes what I do is just take a nice bath under the full moon. I open the window and I have like the full moon shining down, and I just release and process, and I put Epsom salt and I put lavender and I put roses, so it just is just perfectly aligned, is what I'll say.

SPEAKER_02:

Beautiful, beautiful. So so the transit. Um when when when we this is before we started recording, one of the things I've learned is that it's often clients, I love clients. My team, one of my astrology teachers has taught that it's great when someone comes to me with a question as a reader.

SPEAKER_03:

Yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

When someone doesn't come with a question, I often have to look at the chart and say, okay, what is the chart asking us to see? And what's fascinating is when I was looking at your chart, the placement of the sun right now and the placement of the moon right now in the sky, we're calling attention to two very important things. I'm going to start with the moon. So the transiting moon right now in the sky is in the sign of Scorpio. Okay. Scorpio, when the moon is in Scorpio, the moon is asking us to pull the deeply seated, held emotions that we have a hard time releasing.

Host: Amanda:

Okay, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

We're meant to purge them, we're meant to push through, to force them out, to create freedom of movement, is what just came to mind. But Scorpio is a psychologist. Scorpio is um, it requires getting into the depths of our feelings and pushing out what we've been holding back. Okay. And so you have this moon. The moon is actually shining a light right now. When I pulled your chart, if you look at your chart on the screen, you'll see that the moon, the green, remember the transiting planets are the green glyphs on the outside of the chart. So Amanda has a copy of her chart, which I sent to her so that we could focus on our discussion and not get distracted by having charts on screen and the like. So I'm referring to the moon, which if you look at the bottom of your chart in the fourth house, and do you see the moon is is like literally looking right at your Saturn in Scorpio? In the fourth house, if you have Saturn there and then outside of it, the moon is there.

Host: Amanda:

Okay, wow.

SPEAKER_02:

So so the moon is calling attention to some kind of emotional purging that you need to be doing in at home. Um, it has to do with purging of the inner, sort of inner ancestral stories you've told yourself about maybe you had to hold your emotions in the past and you had to be tough and strong, and maybe it was not okay for you to express your feelings. The moon is calling, the moon uh brings attention to the inner wiring, the subconscious. And when it's in Scorpio aspect in your Saturn, it's saying that um you have to release some kind of inherited emotional control patterns and pull out what was buried there. Okay. So I would pay attention to you, said it earlier. You told me that you had a wonderful purge last night.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, I did.

SPEAKER_02:

And I love that you're working with water because Scorpio is another water sign. So this is bringing attention to working with water as a way to help tears. Yes, let them come forth. That's something I, as a Capricorn son, one of the things I um I just came out of a very similar period, Amanda, where for the last two and a half, three years, I've been just developing more sensitivity, and part of that required spending time with the element of water and just getting comfortable with my tears and expressing myself more deeply. And I know you do that every day as part of your work, but you're also a counselor, and one of the things is we tend to hold a lot for people, and then we get we let things subconsciously get stuck within ourselves, and we have to just and so for this period of time right now, the moon is calling attention to just some deep purging that you're doing. Um I would say if you aren't doing oh, and restructuring your emotional foundation, you're doing foundational restructuring right now when it comes to home life and your inner world, um, clearing generational patterns around emotional withholding, scarcity or survival. So you want to let any walls that might be there. I'm just I'm not sure if this is your ministry, but I'm just saying these are typically things that would come up given where the moon is at right now. So it's just saying let your walls come down, purge, pay attention to where you are feeling when you feel emotionally withdrawn, when you're feeling when you're not expressing yourself and you're keeping things in. Okay, because we're meant you're supposed to be doing the opposite. If you're feeling tightness, um those are signs that you need to just soften, release. Soften, release.

Host: Amanda:

Wow.

unknown:

Thank you.

SPEAKER_02:

You're very welcome. You want which is it okay to go on?

Host: Amanda:

Oh, yes, please. Sorry.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay, no, no, don't apologize. Do not apologize. I want to I'm I I do I as part of as part of my readings, I do like to leave space for questions because it's really important to me that you feel like you walk away from the reading with not just um awareness and a confirmation of what you're going through right now, but also you feel like you have something that you could take and work with replacement.

SPEAKER_03:

Absolutely.

SPEAKER_02:

And and so I just wanted to leave space for that. So the other thing, I mean, there's again so much in here. I have so much in here to share with you, but I wanted to talk about. Um, I'll try to do two more things and then we have enough time for that.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, we do.

SPEAKER_02:

Okay, so the moon is in Scorpio right now, shedding light on the subconscious part of you that needs purging and release and softening. The sun in is currently moving through the sign of Gemini right now. And when the sun moves through the sign, it's bringing conscious awareness to the archetype, the expression of that sign into our lives. And if you look at your chart, take a look at your Gemini house, which is your 11th house. Okay, and if you once you identify the 11th house, take a look at the glyphs on the outside of that house.

Host: Amanda:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Do you see the sun, the the sun there? It looks like a donut with a yeah, I see that. And do you see that the sun is aspecting a point in your chart today? Oh, if you see it means that the sun is on your north node in Gemini. Oh, so the sun is moving through your 11th house. Let's start with that, right? Because we said the sun is the plot line. So by transit, the plot line is in Gemini and your 11th house. So the sun is in Gemini, which is giving giving light to air sign Gemini themes, networking, local community, short trips, um, your connections that you deal with on a day-to-day basis. Gemini is also associated with marketing and social media and and speaking, writing, engaging, relating to people, perspectives, and choices. So this is saying that the sun has been moving through your this house and it's giving awareness to these types of things in your life since the sun moved into Gemini at the end of May. Okay, now it's moving through the 11th house. The 11th house is associated with our networks, our friends' groups, our long-term goals, i.e. Gemini, market media, yeah, and the gains we make from our career. Gains meaning the physical, tangible, uh, you know, the goodies that come out of the career house, which is the 10th house. And so, what this is telling me is that you've been making choices and having to decide like where do you want to show up? What networks, what communities do you want to be showing up in?

Host: Amanda:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

And you've been, that's what the sun has been bringing to your awareness. Are these groups the groups that you want to be a part of? Are they helping you realize your goals, right? 11th house. Are the net are these the right networks for you? And so reading this, I would say Amanda has been look focusing on local community, who her support system, friends, siblings, connections who can help you. And we talked a little bit about this earlier to help you realize your dream when it comes to the media and media work that you do.

unknown:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

And the North Node, I study the North, I've been studying the North Node, and um what I would say about it is think about the North Node in this case as something that you are trying, like really trying to achieve in this life. Like you're you're trying, you're really trying to um realize that goal. And so in this case, with North Node in Gemini, you're really trying to realize this goal about um, I don't know, I don't want to say it, but we talked about it. Your dream of your your your your for Audacious Black Girl. Okay. Yes. And and and the media as part of your day-to-day environment. And so what this mess, what I'm getting from this is um, you need to be stepping into relationships and and roles that align with you. So if, for example, you're showing up in the social media space and you're doing it just because and it's not resonating with you, really give yourself, really think about whether you want to be in that space. If it's not aligned, why are you doing it? Do you need to be instead of doing one thing, should you be spending more time doing Gemini things, like doing live events in the community, going to talking to people in groups that in small group settings within you know classrooms in the D in the DC metropolitan area?

Host: Amanda:

My goodness. My goodness.

SPEAKER_02:

That's what the sun is bringing into your conscious awareness. And that is how thinking about the choices you can make about what communities you're showing up in to realize your dreams. That makes sense.

Host: Amanda:

Yes. It's like it's just I'm just like lost for words because like we talked about earlier, I'm not gonna speak on it just yet, but like my dream with Audacious Black Girl and just, you know, really getting her into the streets. And this has been something I've been dreaming and thinking about for a while. And I'm just starting that process of it. So this makes absolute sense. Um, I'm just like in awe. And when it comes to like social media, um, like I posted something on threads the other day about how I'm viewing social media. Like, I'm not, um I said something like, you know, I create content, but I'm not a content creator. I influence, but I'm not an influencer. And like I'm really here to build community and just realigning my how I use social media. I'm not those things. I am using it for a certain purpose, and I have to make sure that I stay aligned because a lot of us entrepreneurs, like when you're building something, yeah, we hear about social media, but I have to really um define what my relationship is and what my own purpose is, and not what everyone is like, even social media, how these platforms are telling you to use it. I gotta use it in my own right, and I know my purpose is to create community and connection.

SPEAKER_02:

Yes, and it is, and you're again in alignment. So just ask yourself like, and I did see that post by the way. So I chuckled when you said that plus when I saw that post, and then I looked at your chart, and then you said what you said earlier about what you were doing to really get out in the streets. I was like, a hundred percent. Do you are be are you in communities that value your curiosity? Okay, are they you want to be thinking about which of these spaces allow you to be flexibly thinking, give you an opportunity for mutual respect and honest dialogue. Okay. You want to make sure during this time that you're prioritizing those space, those community spaces where you feel mentally engaged and emotionally at ease, right? And that's important because I had the same thing as an as as um as a as an entreprene uh uh solopreneur who is trying to grow her astrology practice, there's a lot, I feel you, there's a lot of pressure to show up a certain way on social media. And I'm like, this is not me. So I've gotten to the point, and I'm I'm also evolving how I show up in social media spaces because I've always been very uncomfortable in showing up. You know, sometimes I get weirded out that people will be super weirded out by me. But at the end of the day, if we're not showing up authentic authentic authentically, we're not really showing up. Yes. So I said, I'm gonna just post whatever the hell I want to post and you know figure it out. And you know, if some people don't like it, I'll get over it. Yes, that's it. That's it.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, that's it. So gosh.

SPEAKER_02:

So that's super important for you to just be making sure that you're aware that you have choices and options, that you're not feeling limited, like, oh, I have to do this community. No, you don't, you do it in the way that resonates with you. Um okay, a couple of other notes, and I'm gonna wrap, and then I'm gonna tell you let's let's do a reading together. Um, you're reframing the story you're telling yourself about love and creativity and recognition. Okay, that was another aspect. You have Mercury and Jupiter right now, those are the other two planets in your 11th house. If you look okay um past the sun, you'll see Mercury. Mercury looks like this, has a little um antenna on the top.

Host: Amanda:

Yeah, yeah.

SPEAKER_02:

Yeah, and Jupiter, which looks like the four. They're transiting, also transiting through Gemini. So there's a lot of clarity coming in for you about what you need to be doing to realize your dreams with your podcast and your other business endeavors. Yeah. Oh my gosh. So pay attention to the messages and that are showing up for you to show you that the choices and options that you have. I love this. Um reframe the story, tell yourself about love, creativity, and recognition. Um, you are you are very idealistic. I love it. You're a dreamer, you have this ministry. I definitely see this. I see this, I see the online television live. Make sure that you're giving yourself time because you also have a lot of big ideas. So make sure you're giving yourself time and not signing up for everything because you feel so passionately about it. This goes back to why softening into the water is helpful because it's gonna give you time to spend more time with your intuition and give yourself more time to decide whether something really is meant for you to be doing. Last one, you have Venus. Look at your um look at the chart again. This is why I tell you I love, love, love this work, Amanda. Yes. If you look at your 10th house, top of your chart, the most visible house in your chart, it's what everyone can see is your collective contribution in the world. You have your 10th house in the sign of Taurus.

Host: Amanda:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

Taurus is here to show us our our own resourcefulness. Taurus is here to show us our own value and self-worth. It's here to encourage us to seek pleasure, to seek stability and comfort. Okay. And Venus is literally just moved into Taurus, and this is the bomb.com. I'm using an old expression because Venus basically rules that house. So Venus has come home.

Host: Amanda:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

You heard that?

Host: Amanda:

Yes.

SPEAKER_02:

And so this is a wonderful time for you to tap into Venus in your career and vocation. What does that mean? It means the more daily goodness that you're giving yourself, you magnetize more of it back towards you. It could show up in the form of women who are supporting you. So from now until July 2nd, I would tell you, do all the nice things for yourself. Treat yourself like a princess, queen, audacious black girl that you are. Make sure you're doing, you're giving yourself little luxuries. Like if you have lotion, different lotion options you use every day, use the best ones. My best friend is a Taurus son, and she's teaching me how to soft girl my life. She's teaching me how to like be more be more in my yin and in my uh more divine, my feminine energy. Because I have a lot of masculine, like very I'm like, I'm a I'm a doer. So are you? Yeah. Yeah. She's teaching me how to soften. And one of the ways she said is just be more intentional. Um, romanticize your life. She was like, when you're drinking your your your ACV water in the morning, imagine that put it in the nice, in the nicest glass you have.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Last last night she came home from a trip to LA and then she said, Diana, what are you gonna do to celebrate the fact that I did another hard thing this week? I and she said, You know what you should do? She's like, she said, I you know what I'm gonna do? Because she did some hard things in LA. She said, I'm gonna take a long shower and I'm gonna pretend that I'm in um an outdoor shower in the Maldives when I'm doing it.

Host: Amanda:

Oh my gosh.

SPEAKER_02:

So that's the kind of I love that. That's the kind of I love, I'm glad you love it. And that's the kind of energy I want you showing up in from now until July 2nd. And then because Venus is gonna leave Taurus on July 2nd, and I think we're all gonna miss miss Venus when she leaves Taurus, but in the meantime, I want you to take advantage of it, romanticize your life, root yourself and your career in your stability and resourcefulness. You are meant to have a rich career, uh, an abundant career doing what you're doing right now. And so I want you to also think about the woman, especially because Venus and Taurus can tend to show up as women or more feminine people who come in to help you realize vocation and career type things. Does that make sense?

Host: Amanda:

Oh, absolutely.

SPEAKER_02:

And then it's opposing that moon and Scorpio right now. So it's saying you need to name your emotional needs and values out loud.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

If you're showing up in a in it's also saying just be honest about what's going on in your life. If you've been holding back about what's been going on internally because you want to show up a different way in your public your public-facing persona, that's not who you are. You want to be real and you want to make sure that you're showing up in a way that's again reflective of what's going on in here and not necessarily what's gonna just look good or be palatable to others.

Host: Amanda:

Right.

SPEAKER_02:

They want to hear about what you're transforming through in your fourth house in your inner self.

Host: Amanda:

Wow.

SPEAKER_02:

Um, when and then when we talk, I want to talk about your natal Venus and your natal Mars because the work that you're doing to soften yourself, I think it's gonna help you soften yourself to receive instead of over-giving and over-serving.

Host: Amanda:

Okay.

SPEAKER_02:

Because I think if there's been any blocks when it comes to how you resource yourself through what you're doing, part of it comes from um what looks like overdoing and overgiving. And that you once you um do this work and soften into some kind of daily devotional, we can talk about how to work with your Venus and your Mars. You're already sort of doing it again by what we're talking about. I wanted to keep it simple. Work with water to soften. Yeah, and then we'll talk about how to open up that Venus. You have um your Venus can certainly make money doing this, but if you've been overgiving, and that's been creating some blockages around you being open to the to receive. Amanda, and you you've teach this in what you share with others, but you know that you're not your value doesn't come from what you do, it's just in being who you are. And if you continue to remember that, that you are extremely valuable just by virtue of the person, the beautiful, audacious black girl I see right in front of me, that there know that there will no blockages and that you are multi-talented, multi-faceted, and you have the building of the ability to resource yourself with what you're doing. But you need to cut some stuff out. You need to say, you know, you need to be, I would say, more discerning around what you take on because that's gonna help you realize more stability and gains from what you really want to be doing. It's almost like saying you might, you know, be on the you know, precipe of making some more difficult decisions about what you do with your day-to-day so that you can make some more space for realizing your dreams and trusting that the universe will support you. Yes, it's not easy, but you've done you know what it's like doing hard work. But in this case, the hard work is saying, I surrender.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, and asking for help.

SPEAKER_02:

And asking for help, which you're already doing.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, that, yes. Oh my gosh. Just take a second here because this is just so powerful, and I know I'm gonna listen back to this and like constantly on a loop, just getting all those goodies and reminding myself of what I need to do. Because everything you're saying, this is the thing I love about astrology, is that everything you're telling me, it feels known.

SPEAKER_01:

Right, it feels known.

Host: Amanda:

It's a confirmation, it's like, yeah, duh, that makes sense. But like you have to hear things reflected back to you. You have to hear it for me verbalized and thought out in a way because me, I'm really big on this is how I am the duality, right? I like the science and I like the woo-woo. So hearing it in that framework, it just resonates so deeply and aligns with what I've been feeling lately, what I've been thinking lately, what I've been called to lately. And for me, the the underlying tone of all this is I am enough. Yeah, and to rest and surrender. This was so powerful, so powerful. I have to schedule a reading to do like a full, we're gonna have a whole afternoon. I don't know how long you take, but like, I need it all, I need I need it all. And this is just like mind-blowing. And I and I hope our listeners not only got insight into how powerful a chart reading can be and is, but how you do it. Because this felt really spiritual and psychic and intuitive, and it just felt like all the things that I needed. And just thank you for doing what you do, presenting yourself in this way, giving this gift. This gift. Oh my gosh, this was such a gift. This was such a gift. Thank you.

SPEAKER_02:

You're so welcome. You're you're literally gonna have me in tears again. And this is just an affirmation for me that I made the right decision when I took my leave to leave you on time to do this because hearing these kind these words, it's just um again, it's just like I'm finally counseling in a way that just makes my heart feel so good. And I feel like I'm helping liberate people and empower women, and it's just like I just keep going.

Host: Amanda:

Yes, yes, you keep going, you keep going. Like this is you, this is you, this is who you've always been, and here you are. Here you are. Yes, as we wrap up. I always ask this question what makes you an audacious black girl?

SPEAKER_02:

My curiosity. My curiosity has been a godsend for me. I am happy that I have been curious and not accepting of stories and tales that were told to me. That I had the the desire um and the curiosity to want to go out and learn and see for myself whether certain things were a certain way. And it's because of my curiosity that I, you know, did take the leap, started looking at astrology when it was something that was very heavily disfavored in the communities that I show up in. And and it was through the curiosity that I'm here. So that to me is is one of one of the main things that has led me to be an audacious black girl.

Host: Amanda:

That was so beautiful. So beautiful. Thank you so very much for just dropping your knowledge. Just um, I I don't have the words to describe what you provided, our listeners and me today. I just want to say thank you and have so much gratitude and so much love in my heart for you. Thank you. Um tell people where they can find you, your social media, maybe your website, and everything will be in a show notes, but where can they find you?

SPEAKER_02:

So, folks can find me at dianavanessa.com. That's my website, and it will be in the show notes.
